Oh how I loved everything about this wedding. It started with an email from Dani saying they wanted to get married sometime this month. An elopement wedding? Yes, sign me up please!  Elopement weddings don’t mean they have less meaning or purpose just because the bride didn’t spend a year harping on every detail. In fact, to me, it means far more.  They didn’t need to spend a year making sure every detail was in place. They wanted to be married. They wanted to say I Do. So they choose a beautiful Thursday evening for that very thing. To become man and wife.  And their evening at Paniolo Ranch was so very perfect.

Laughter while getting ready is a great way to ease your nerves.

A quiet prayer between Dani and her best friend is another.

Dani was one beautiful bride.

The sweetest first look under a greenery/rose filled tunnel.

Dani was escorted down the isle by non other than her husband to be.

The very happy Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

One of my most favorites.

Their guests.

I loved that Dani really wanted some great portraits of the two of them and gave me plenty of time to do so!

Of course I found a sun drenched field to work with!

The wind and the sun made these portraits really shine.

Back to their reception for a little cake cutting, champagne popping and laughter.

Congratulations Will and Dani! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day!

My favorite picture I have of my youngest cousin, on my Mom’s side, is when she’s about 4 years old making a duck beak out of Pringles. I wish I knew exactly where that photo is, but I’d have some serious digging to do.  Courtney has grown up the baby of the family of 8 cousins and being 10 years my junior. So needless to say it is crazy to me that she is graduating high school and going on to UT! I can’t wait to see what life has in store for Courtney. She’s an amazing person and I have no doubt she’ll do great things.

These two are some of my favorites. Courtney has the best smile.

I had to use the “i love you wall” for a pic of my aunt and uncle and their little graduate!  I just love this picture!

I have so many people emailing me on how to make their engagement shoot perfect and ensure great photographs. Well, take Ashley and Matt as a perfect example.  Besides their overall calmness and excited energy for the shoot they came dressed and ready to pose! Ashley had her makeup done beforehand, chose clothes that really fit their personalities, a perfect mix of dressy/casual, and chose locations that had great textures and light. A general rule on clothing – if you feel good, you’ll look good. There’s no need to make your man wear starched button ups if that’s not what he feels good in.  If he’s a t shirt guy let him be who he is in the photos.  I loved that Matt wore his sandals and rolled up pants. Clearly he chose what he felt good in (at least that’s what I thought anyway) and because of that he photographed well.  They choose great color – not just all white – and changed it up three times.
So besides all that – Ashley and Matt seem so perfect for each other and it was fun watching their quiet, confident love with simple glances and touches. I can’t wait for their September wedding – They will make a beautiful bride and groom!

love Ashley’s Kendra Scott earrings!

In an email I sent Ashley – “so you have great skin” maybe kinda weird to send to someone but come on people, look at her glowing face. Beautiful I tell ya.

I don’t know what it is, but something about this photo I just love!

Then we went on to the Capitol – besides being one of my favorite lawns to lay on a blanket and read, it’s also a great spot for cute couples to run around.

And this amazing tree was calling our names.

One last shot of how adorable they are and how sweet Matt is towards his bride!  I can’t wait for their wedding at the end of the summer!

I am so excited for this wedding! I love Senglemann Hall and having attended my good friends wedding there I know it’s a great place for a southern wedding. So when thinking about where to have their engagements start, of course the hall came up. The light coming through the old windows is gorgeous – as well as Holly and Aaron!

So we started upstairs in the dance hall with the amazing window light.

So sweet – I love these.

Downstairs at the bar -the architecture of this place is amazing.

Then we moved on to around town searching for this special light.

loove these.

and then made it back from some street shots of Sengelmann.

Thanks you two — can’t wait for July!!

Happy Monday to you all…I know, never our favorite day of the week, but maybe this precious little girl can cheer you up.  Meet Penelope Kate, the third little girl in a family of five. She was the most alert and sweetest little girl during her shoot!

From left: Penelope, Arabella, Emeline — The three most beautiful girls, and those stunning eyes…

See, can we say alert?

maybe her first little smile… :)

Her big sisters love her so much.

and so does her momma.

and grandma too!

What a joy photographing your little girls again! I can’t wait to see her grow!

You never need a good excuse to document your lives, your loves or the places you love. Ashley and Matt together have made Long Prairie Ranch a beautiful place they call home.  A place where they can go for walks, jump in the pond with their dogs, picnic in the bluebonnets, or take a deep breath of fresh air country living.  With big changes coming up in their near future, Ashley wanted some of these memories documented to take along with her on their new adventure.  I love these two and only hope these images make their time apart a little less difficult.

Quite the entrance, don’t you think? Greeted by two of their horses.

I love this picture of them so much.  I can feel their love and longing in it.

Meet Daisy

We’ve had such a drought in Texas the past few years, so walking around their land with all the greenery made for some beautiful pictures, which finally had me remembering what the hill country should look like!

This would be Drake. He’s crazy!

I love a man in his cowboy hat — especially Matt!

If they wanted something to remember Texas by they got it – running through a field of bluebonnets at sunset. Pretty much sums it up!

Love this!

Thank you both for allowing me to photograph you once again, it’s always such a pleasure!

I am so excited to be showing Blake and Candace – as now husband and wife. They had the most beautiful wedding day, held at The Corinthian in downtown Houston. From the amazing architecture and light in their venue, to how happy Candace and Blake were, always smiling, their wedding day was a dream.

The day started with a little hair and makeup at Blow Dry Bar.

A little pre-wedding exercising getting ready for that wedding dress…

Then on to the guys, dapper as ever.

Blake was such a handsome groom.

And Candace was one very happy bride!

Nothing like the touch of a Mother’s hand to calm your nerves.

I mean, could this be any more of a gorgeous bridal party?!

Candace was the most stunning bride.

A big thanks to my second shooter Jennifer Schattle — without her we wouldn’t have gotten that amazing shot from the balcony as well as many others.

Candace’s grandpa led the most touching prayer as he thanked God for living long enough to see his granddaughter as a bride. Brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

Yup, it’s official. Mr and Mrs. Blake Hoelscher!

The ceremony site was flipped into the reception – how amazing right!?

Introducing the happy couple was a bag pipe group!

love this!

Candace and all her Sullivan Group work family.

Whoop!

Candace and Blake – it was such an honor documenting your wedding.  Thank you so much for allowing me to!

This sweet little girl had just been welcomed home for one day before I came over for her newborn shoot.  Paula and Ben were so calm and loving, not stressed and sleep deprived. Well they may have been, but they sure didn’t show it.  I think even new big brother, Noah was excited to have a little sister around!

Avery’s really sweet nursery and of course all little girls need accessories.

Baby and momma needed a little break so we took some of big bro Noah!

you know what they say…. a boy and his dog.

love this.

Can you believe how beautiful both momma and baby look already?!

Tracy and Travis were married on the most beautiful winter day at Marburger Farm – outside of La Grange. Deborah Bradley Events and staff did the most amazing job at decorating, organizing and making sure the whole day went smoothly! It’s always such a pleasure working with her team!

Marburger Farm consists of lots of small and large barns throughout the property.  The Zieger House is where the girls spent their time getting ready.

The two main dance halls were transported from local small towns making this venue a true small town experience.

Tracy and her bridesmaids looked amazing with their individual dresses.

Their first look was inside the main dance hall. It’s evident that Tracy literally took Travis’ breath away!

These two are such a stunning couple.

To make for a more casual feel all the guests stood around during the ceremony.

Deborah and her team did such an amazing job with transforming the dance hall.  They made it feel dream like with all the drapery and twinkle lights.

Grand March time!

A perfect ending last dance to an incredibly beautiful and fun day!  Congratulations you two!!

I am so excited, happy, but mostly relieved that today, on my 4th anniversary of starting my business, I get to release my new website! For years I have tried to decide what kind of new site I would want, who could build it and worried about the process.  When I discovered showit, I realized I would be able to build my own website all by myself from the ground up, using their program, and it was the best decision! For the last few months I’ve been on a mission to make this website perfect, but I realized that’s not going to happen. However, I do feel like this new site is 100 percent me, with a look into what I love and who I love, and why I do what I do! So I hope you all take the time to click on all the little links, tabs and pictures to and experience what I’ve been working so hard on!!
